FINALLY!!!!! A Pig Story

FINALLY!!

A Pig Story (with audio) from Nikhita Prabhudesai on Vimeo.

here it is! A pig story!

Sorry for the sad quality guys, I don't have a membership @ vimeo. :P

Verge of completion.

So I'm on the verge of finishing my claymation film - "A Pig Story". Can't wait to put it up on vimeo. The only problem is, there's is absolutely NO PERFECT format in which I can export it. Anywho, I hope you guys enjoy the sound. I worked on it myself, n after sound design I felt confident enough to do something about it. Everyone else is busy. Still looking for a place to stay with pooi and the guys in Mumbai during E Suresh's internship.
Enjoy.

I might've exaggerated what happened the other night. But here's how it basically went.

3pt sketch

First I make a BAD 3 point perspective sketch of the college entrance..
And then I render it in a medium I TOTALLY suck at - dry pastels. Well. Eventually I didn't hate this so much, so here it is.

Doomsday

While walking down the staircase in hostel, I passed by the attendants desk. The newspaper lay there with a horrifying picture on the front page. A huge headline read – “8.9 Earthquake hits Japan, more than 16,000 people killed.”
I picked it up in horror and disbelief. What the heck? Only yesterday everything was fine!
It’s true. Who knows what’s coming now-a-days. Apparently a scientist claimed that doomsday is approaching with the coming of 2012. Stupid Mayan theory might actually be true. Things are so bad now that you never really know when you’re going to die. The cold regions get colder and the hot are getting hotter. I received a message from a friend claiming that the moon on the 19th of March will be 3, 56, 577 km closer to earth, one of the closest approaches in history and that we should soon expect effects like earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
So hey, if we really will see doomsday in 2012, you got 9 months more to make your mark as a designer in the history of earth.

Not that anyone or anything will know of it.

P.S: R.I.P to all those who lost their lives in the Japan tsunami.

Laundry Day

Things like these have been happening to me on a daily basis. Uncool man. :(

Quentin Tarantino

There is a Tarantino fest happening every Monday and Wednesday in college. We're screening some of his best movies. So I made a caricature of him for the poster. (This is a nicer cleaned up version.;))
Everyone's invited!

Hiatus

So sorry for the long hiatus guys, but it's been really crazy with sound design, Ud Jayega, Porfolio preps going on.To top it all attending n helping in our film club and managing and editing Hive is getting REALLY difficult. Anywho. Claymation editing is finally complete, and all I've got to do now is put the sound in there, which I'll probably do after sound design.

For now, here are a few sketches I've been doin lately, and some old gestures and live animal sketches too(katraj zoo is a pretty good library!). Enjoy.

Project "Ud Jayega"

Ahem ahem. This is a series of works I've done till date with what I call as, project "ud jayega", a very philo-senti song sung by Kumar Gandharva, but the song is really written by Kabir. The song is about upliftment of of the soul into the world of nature, and seeing everything in a new light. My soul is a woman, and the story board is a depiction of her travel, and return as a part of nature.

This is the roughest stage, and if I've got some time I'll clean it up.

Further on, each of us are making the treatment for the film as we first visualized it. Here are some of the artworks I came up with..

Unbelievable fact

Unbelievable fact I noticed after reading the 2009 annual report provided by Animation Mentor!

The Greedy Pencil

This blog is a collection of (some of) my work, the art I do for fun, my inspirations and the sweat that goes into making animated films. Enjoy!
